More HP out of my 1994 F350. Any chips or tuners?

I just bought a 1994 F350 7.5 L gas. 77,000 actual miles. 38" tires, only 4:10 gears.

Two questions:

1.) What is the cheapest way to get more "snap" out of the engine? I am assuming switching to 4:56 gears? What about headers? Exhaust?

My problem now...is the mileage is like only 7 on the highway at 50mph. 4.56s would only make it worse.

2.) Are there any chips that I can get for that year? Someone mentioned one that just plugs into the diagnostics plug, and just sits there until I take it out? Does that sound correct?

Is this it? http://www.fasterthanthem.com/produc...oductid=148264

Or what about this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1994-...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for the help!

Your truck is EEC-IV or older because it's a 1 ton. You have very few easy options, my first try would be to call sniper inc and see if their new suite will do your truck. The newer/fancier tuners will not work on your truck because they only communicate with OBD2 systems which are 96 and newer models that require it (I am not sure when 3/4 and 1 tons became OBD-2 compliant.)

For peep, I'd start with a cold air kit, then exhaust then some kind of computer tuning. Once you have those done, headers and gears would follow. The 460 is not an economy engine, how you drive and the condition of the vehicle (air filter, tires inflated, ect) are going to make more of a difference than tunes or gears.

Look, see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?

there's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I like to think that I walk that line every day of my life.
