Goodyear Gatorback Belts. Which one?

Ok......I am getting the run around by the local parts store. I want a goodyear gatorback serpentine belt. They offer two belts both 6 rib and one is 80.5" and the other is 100".

Does anyone know which is the right one? There computers dont even show a option for A/C. Does anyone have goodyears part #?

It is for a 2003 V10 with A/C.

Thanks

I just changed mine over the summer to a Gatorback. There was only one to choose from. Have the auto store look in the Goodyear catalog to the correct number, not their computer look-up(it's probably wrong) BTY, I fairly sure it is the 100" one.

I believe you need an 8-rib. The early '99's had the 6-rib, the later ones are 8.

Find another parts store, and tell them why

I used a Dayco, appears to be lasting well...

Well, I am addicted to the V10 power so I am trying to get rid of the high rpm slippage of the continous rib belts.

I will go back to the parts store tomorrow.

Summit lists the same two belts. Funny thing is the 100" belt is for NO A/C and the shorter belt is WITH A/C. Why does that seem backwards.

Advanced auto parts has the same tow belts listed but it makes more sence. The short belt is no A/C and the longet belt is WITH A/C

Gueall I will have to take the old one off and measure it. A PITA to do it by yourself.

By the way, I think the squeal from high RPMs is from the back of the belt, the part going over the water pump - fan, big pedestal (must weigh a bit) plus the fan if clutched up even partly, must equal the squeal

So the cogged belts aren't necessary for this sort of thing.

But I could be wrong - see the last line of my signature.

regarding difference in belt lengths, the belt tensioner will compensate for 1/2 difference in belt lengths.

I changed my belt last summer. I have a late model 1999 with A/C. I tried to order a goodyear gatorback, but received one that was too short. I found my receipt for the returned part. Part #4080805 is NOT the correct part number. The goodyear gatorback design and name was purchased by a continental and is under a different model name, "continental elite poly V". I lost patience after getting the wrong belt and purchased a belt from Napa. It did squeel new out of the box. I got rid of the squeel by taking the belt back off and spraying it with belt dressing. Have driven around 2000 miles without the squeel coming back. Knock on wood. Also, I kept my old belt in my truck tool box for emergencies. It measures 100 inches.
