Truck impressed me

I just stopped to help a stranded motorist in a ditch. I live in a place that has snow. I saw the guy in a dodge pickup and he had slid thru the intersection and into a ditch that had at least a 45 degree downslope. A cop stopped at the same time and asked if I was planning to pull him out, I said I was. He informed me that no one but me would be liable for damage to my truck, I said that it would not hurt my truck. I hooked up to his truck and he put it in neutral, I put mine in low 4 on ice, and it pulled his truck out and did not even spin the wheels!! The cop even said he was impressed. I have pulled a 24 foot trailer, but I did not think that this truck was this strong. Just thought I would share my story, just for a short moment gas prices and mileage were not important. 2006 FX4

I pulled my brothers f650 dump truck 3 miles up one hill no problem, the fuel pump had gone on it and we couldn't get a tow truck out so I hooked it up and no one could believe it! These trucks are strong!

I helped out a Dodge 3500 4x4 dually that was pulling a 30' gooseneck trailer that had gotten himself high centered in a ditch trying to turn around. He couldn't get it to budge. I wrapped a tow chain around my trailer hitch, put it in 4 wheel low and pulled him out without even spinning the tires.

Thumbs up

A few months ago I pulled my neighbors old beater truck S-10 pickup out of the woods. His son and a friend thought they could drive through a large area of water on a muddy dirt road and got the truck stuck up to the lower doors. I put my tow strap on my hitch and around his back bumper and in four wheel low pulled him out. I thought the mud would make it almost impossible but light throttle pulled him right out. 2005 Fx4 S Cab.

I posted this last winter but I love the story so much I have to tell it again!

My plow truck is a 1997 F-250 LD with 185,000 miles on it. (see gallery) Last night while plowing a trucking terminal I encountered a driver that was stuck. The road was plowed but he was pulling twin "pup" trailers and was just spinning his tires. Long story short, using a nylon tow strap I was able to pull him with my truck in 4 wheel low just enough to get moving and drive away. He was shocked as he thought I was nuts for even thinking that my truck could pull a tractor trailer. Needless to say my buddy with a duramax was speachless. Gotta love a FORD!

I pulled myself out of the soft sand at lake Mead, but just barely.

The lake is very low and I drove down to the water edge. Of course where I chose to stop, was a nice sandy spot. But the sand was almost like quick sand. After walking along the water for a bit, my wife and I went back to the truck. It had sunk down almost to the axle. I figured we were done for, but I put her in 4 low, and that truck crabbed outta there like a sand snake! Whew, that was scary for a second!.

old trucks do it too...

Havent had the op to pull anybody out with my '05 yet, but a few yrs ago at Lake Mead I pulled up to a couple old guys with their brand new Dodge stuck in the water up to the door handles, with the boat trailer wheels below an underwater dropoff. 5am and they couldnt get anyone on the phone. 2 Chevs were waiting to get their boat in, so after seeing these 2 old guys were f*****d, I unhooked my trailer, fired up the ol '72 4wheeler and hooked a yellow tow strap up to their front. The 2 Chev guys sneered and chuckled while I did this, and after snugging up the strap to give er hell, it snapped. They retied, I gave the 4 tires a slow spin and out they came! One other time while up in the mountains full of snow, wife and I came across a rice grinder stuck 10' down the bank in the snow. Had just enough strap and chain to get to him, with my front tires on the pavement and the smoke flying, his front end came up the hill sideways til it straightened out. Actually that was kind of fun!
