6.4 Performance Tunes and Mods

Interesting Ford broadcast message dealing with DPF removal:
Diagnostic codes or Diesel Particulate Filter damage from aftermarket equipment:
Trucks that have EGR valve codes P0401 or P0402, or DPF codes P2002 or P244A, or have a damaged DPF or catalytic converter--may exhibit soot in tailpipe or white or black smoke; should be checked for aftermarket air induction systems (may cause MAF sensor and/or EGR valve concerns), exhaust systems that have eliminated the DPF and/or cat converter, and/or performance "chips". Problems caused by aftermarket products are not covered by Ford warranty. Broadcast Message 7341.

Hey Guys I have been reading all of your post. But still need some Help. A good Friend of mine Just bought a 2008 F250 XLT Sport Crew Cab 4X4 with the 6.8. Here is what we want to know. What exactly do we need to do. Should we do an Exhaust upgrade or should we buy a programmer for the truck and tune it??? He had a Fast Flash in his 05 250 with the 6.0. We like the performance that we got from this unit. Also Sanddemon Can you send me a copy of the Dyno that you did. We tried looking at it several times but had no luck reading it. (to small)
thanks guys

So i have some dyno number's, special thanks to sin city performance in Henderson NV for the dyno time.
Stock 6.4 with CAT and DPF (runs 1 thru 5)
281 HP 496 TQ
6.4 with spartan tune's with CAT and DPF (runs 6 thru 9)
360 HP 634 TQ
6.4 with same spartan tune with CAT and without DPF (runs 10 thru 12)
412 HP 731 TQ
Look how much the DPF holds the 6.4 back, let along the milage increase i have seen.

I'm going to make a bold statement- coming from myself (not a fan of bold statements) you can take it for what its worth.
The 6.4 Powerstroke is and has been the only light duty diesel engine that will give the Cummins serious competition, and it will do so in the very near future. I can't disclose any of the info of which I base this on, but the time is near
