So he posts that the 6.4 Turbos have some good potential, and you all attack him? Nice guys.

Anyways, the drive train losses on the new PSD look massive!
Stock 6.4 with CAT and DPF (runs 1 thru 5)
281 HP 496 TQ

Considering that this is a 350HP, 650 TQ engine. Also almazing just how much of a restriction the DPF is. You would have thought they would put a slightly bigger less restrictive one on, to gain back that lost mileage and HP.

@Matt, I know the cummins also uses the Bosch CP3, I did't know that the 6.4 was too. Or is that basically the only common rail pump used on all these light duty diesels?

If you think his post was positive look at what his first word out of his mouth was. BTW, I am pretty sure the Powerstroke 6.4 uses a Siemens VDO Common Rail Pump not a Bosch CP3....

BTW, all the dyno charts I have seen on the new Cummins and Dmax are very close to the 6.4 at the wheels...

Oh, aparently the 6.4 does use the Siemens injection system. I saw matt mention a dual CP3 kit. Didn't know it was that easy to swap injection pumps like that.

As for the dyno results, it wasn't so muc the 280HP, it was the 496 ft-lbs of torque that got me.

I thought the other trucks were atleast hitting 520 at the rear wheels

I was surprized as while considering i have seen stock 6.0 make 290HP AND 490 TQ
I think the advertised HP and TQ values must be generated prior to the installation of all the emmision equpiment, based on a engine dyno vs a auto dyno. I dont know but it would be intresting to find that information out.

Auto manufactures haven't used horsepower raiings with no emissiosn and equipment for over 3 decades. They now measure horsepower with alternator, AC, cats, dpf, etc. all on. But engine manufactures rate HP at the flywheel, not at the wheels.

I know auto makers rate there engine at the Flywheel on a engine bench dyno. I just did'nt know if they rated it with all the emission components, considering the DPF is a part of the emission equpiment. Thats goods to know.

Wouldn't gearing affect your numbers. A car with higher gears will show better tq, or am i mixing this up.

Maybe they should throw in free navigation since it has taken so long to get these out.

By the way, do you know if these will have the ability to add a backup camera?

I have no factual info on that but i have heard you will be able to play video's on it so i would think you could have a camera hook to it. The dashdaq site does not mention those capabilitys.
