It's been too long...I'm ready to get together again and have Jesse make another big fire so we can eat, do some fishing, and whatever else amuses us.

How's mid-March, same place, sound for anybody interested? Say the 15th or so?

Well since Jesse and I thought it would just be us (we're also friends outside of FTE), we were planning on the swimming beach/cookout place on the east sure of Lake Ray Roberts.

That's not too far from me , I used to drive up there and fill a fish basket with crappie on the west side after work. I'll have to see how things go between now and then, but I might be interested, sounds like a blast and I love that lake.

I just got a huge pack of pork chops (3/4 inch thick) with 14 chops for 15 bux at sams today, and they were damn good. Maybe we can do that food wise. I think one chop per person would be good. What cha think?

 

Hey guys - not to horn in on your party but how's about sometime a joint NE Texas/NW LA get together? After all - some of us here in the S'port area think we're more a part of Texas than LA anyway (nothin between us 'cept the Red River) especially since I was born and raised in SE Texas. I can't make your Mar 15th GTG - have to be in Houston that weekend and we have a LA Chapter GTG the next weekend. But maybe sometime in the future??

 

Hey guys- I'm still planning on trying to make it and still don't know if I can. Work has been totally screwed up (thanks to being an Election year), and I'm still trying to catch up, but have been working a little more lately. It's sneaking up on me fast, but I'm hoping I can make it happen.

 

Doh! Silly me, the Red River is on the east side of S'port - so nothing 'tween us and Texas 'cept an imaginary line on a map!

 

Doug, we'll hold out for you, hopefully it'll work out but if not, we absolutely understand.

Glen, I think that could definitly work. Just a matter of finding a good spot. There's not nearly as much activity in North TX as CenTex, so it'll be nice to add some more people in. I'd be there for sure.

 

Thanks. Since both groups have Spring GTGs planned maybe we can look deeper into the calendar year. I'm not sure how much acivity we have here in North LA - I've just become the North LA chairman for our state chapter. So far it seems a lot of our members are in the southern part of the state. Personally I spend a lot of time and have many friends in NE Texas - Longview, Kilgore, Marshall, etc. so a GTG in that area would be easy for me and hopefully others.
