Hey just needing some help here in finding a big parasitic draw in my charging system. Have gone through 3 Alternators, and 4 batteries and still can’t figure out why they die while the trucks running. But only after I start it a couple times in a day will the batteries stop holding a charge. I’ve been told to check the voltage on the alternator and also do a parasitic draw test but hard trying to find a post that shows the right way to do it! If anyone can help me with this problem would be greatly amazing!
I am assuming that your 11.97 V at the battery was with the engine off.
Check your battery voltage while the engine is running. It should be around 14V. If it is lower than that check at the back of the alternator and see what Voltage is coming out of it.
