Pipe Sizing

Alright ive ordered new long tube headers, and im wondering what to do on pipe sizing, i was surfin around summitracing and i noticed that all the headerback exhaust packadges were, 2.25 inches, and all the catbacks were 2.5-3.0 inches What would be a good size pipe to run from the headers back? Is it 2.25, 2.5, 3.0, im slightly confused, with this one,

By the way my truck is a 95 f250 4x4 5.8l extended cab long bed,

So back to my question, what size pipe should i run?

Thanks,
Don

2.5" duals or 3" single, IMO. 2.25" duals will become a restriction at upper RPMs and if you do any more to the engine. 2.5" will have more than enough breathing room and will be able to handle any future engine mods you may do in the future.

Someone should be here shortly that will tell you thats too big though

I second that. 2.25" will not be restrictive, and would in fact be ideal for duals. A single you could go either 2.50" or 3.00" and it would run great.

Yeah I really wouldnt mess with 2 1.2 inch true dual with a 5.8 motor that prob isnt putting out more than 250hp at max RPM. I run 2.5inch true dual on my 7.5Liter and thats because the engines bigger, but 2.25 would be fine, but to be honest, I hate the look of 2.25 true dual and the sound, so I would be more inclinded to run a single 3 inch, and then a dual outlet 2.50 or 2.25 outlet muffler, that will give u a very nice tone and a good vaacum on the engine.
