Why do you want the edge bed specifically. The edge should have fender flares on it, so unless you already have flares up front, it wont match the front fenders.

I like the looks of the stepside but thought I could get more junk in a regular size bed.
I got a (tonneu?) hardshell cover on it and like the ability to lock things up in the bed. (My fishing Stuff)
But if I had to haul anything I thought the edge bed might have more cargo room.I guess I would keep my bed if I had to change bumper too.

Other than the fender flares, there is also bed rail mouldings. Not only available on the Edge though, you can get them for an XL if you want... Mostly common on Edge and FX4's. All stuff you can still bolt on to a flareside if that's the look you're going for. Edge's also came flareside too, but they didn't have fender flares.
But I agree with you that you can fit more stuff in a regular box.
