body work

Has any body taken a spare tire fender off a 55 ford f100 and cut out the ident for the spare and reversed it to change the fender. I live in alaska and finding a decent used fender is tough and shipping one up here is expensive. Anyway any ideas?

thanks

I've heard of people doing just the opposite (cutting the fender and reversing it to make a spare tire indented fender), so I don't see why you couldn't. The thing is, if its an original indented fender, those are usually a highly sought after item.
