Thanks Don!

Yeah I wouldn't mind doing custom work for people but it's hard to find the right people to do some sick azz installs for.

I got all kinds of ideas but no damn $$$

I will have my 30x60 shop up soon so at least I don't have to install in the driveway.

I have some ideas to, its really getting the materials together and having the time, and right now money is a problem as well, but it will come together. I have an extended cab 250 and im going to remove the back seats all together and build a big enclosure and fiberglass it all. If you dont mind i would like to get some ideas from ya. Put our 2 heads together and im sure we could get something just plain sick put together.
Let me know what ya think.

Don

Actually they are 8" midrange speakers. Them and the 6's will be bandpassed from about 50hz to 5khz. When they are in I will know the X-over points better.

Man it's tough to pick. I would say take a day, hit a few shops with music you like and test drive some.

The alpine, Polk, infiniti and Ma audio are the ones I have used in the past, and would be more then ok to use again.

I'm currently using PA speakers. They can be a little trick to get right but in the right setup they are far better then Car audio speakers.

If you have some $$ look into Audison, Focal, and rainbow

PA speakers never thought about that in a car. Are they worth the hassle? What kind of work does it take for them to sound good in vehicle aplications?

Pa speakers are very efficient and can be very directional so It may take a little long to determine if they will work on or off axis

The quick answer is On axis is when the speaker is directed towards your ear. Off axis would be like 15 or 30 degrees away from the ear. Like when door speakers play into your knee.

I would contact rainbow to find the nearest dealer. Your going to want to listen to many different brands to find the one that suits your taste. Don't let a salesman tell you that more $ is a better speaker.

Honestly, I can't tell they are that much better for the price. Maybe it was the setup. They just weren't a couple hundred dollars better to me.
