so are you useing the bolt to hold the box together because of the amount of force the subs put on the box? looks good.
Thanks,
Yes the bolts help with the flex. The flex will mess with the tuning of the box. All thread will brace it without taking up much space like 2x4's will do
Picture a 500lb gorilla trying to get out of the box. 10000w on those subs can tear it in two

I beat the crap out of them subs for about 2 hours straight. Un*@&%ingbelievable! how the DC's pounded all day. I fed them dirty, nasty, full clip, full tilt power all day and they didn't break a sweat. My alternator on the other hand, took a dump on the way home. It's a good thing I had plenty of battery power to keep the truck running.
Too bad these don't really show how much the DC's are beating the crap outta the truck.
It's like going a few rounds with someone beating on your kidneys
How bout a couple more.
And where I broke out in Bassrace.
And another.

What an incredible thread!!!!. This is informing and inspirational!!! I had no idea that car stereo contests were this big a deal. Your work and craftmanship are amazing let alone you use minimal tools without a fancy shop! The attention to detail is inspiring as well!
How much does it cost to recone a speaker? Any tips for hot to's for reconing speakers? One can pick up blown speakers for cheap, then recone them themselves, if this is feasible? Do you ever use raw drivers such as Vifa?
Dumb question I know but: how much of a drain on your engine is multiple alternators?
I've got to say: One of the best parts of this thread is your friendliness. You take the time to answer people's questions, and acknowledge the compliments.

Depending on where you live, Stereo contests are real big. Way more in the midwest then out here in CA.
Reconeing subs it self is easy, Making sure you have the right parts may not be. You would need to know the coil size, gap, depth, cone depth, dia, and so on. If you can get in touch of the build house, that would be the best bet. The other thing you can do is look for forums with diy speaker builders or "nut" that love to build that kind of thing.
The alt is custom made 400a at 1200rpm. It however free spins and doesn't charge at idle. So unless your battery power is such that it can support stop and go traffic, it's not an alt for everybody.
I'm still looking for a deal in batteries as the ones I have are getting old. They don't last long with what I do to them for some reason

Thank you sir.
I am currently looking for a project truck. Either a older ford explorer or ranger. It will put off me rebuilding the Excursion for a bit longer but I think it will be worth it.
So if anyone knows of one of these that runs and is super cheap Let me know
