Very Power hungry
And expensive.

well i didnt think it was to spendy for 6k and 14k watts...
If i recall correctly the rockford amp rated at 15k was almost 20 grand....
I was actually lookin for a fuse block, and i saw that massive thing... and the gears start rolling...
So with 14k in power... would lvl5's be worth it?

Do 4 LVL 5 15's with that amp
Just be prepared to supply a ton of power to it.
Oh and I have these just sitting, waiting for the X to be ready for them.

thats what i was thinkin... would be awesome... Im waiting on a reply from rusty for the price on the lvl5's but if he is as reasonable with the lvl 5's as he was the lvl4's then im sold...
I understand power hungry... Where am i going to get an alt to supply enough power for this thing... actually what im asking is... is 1 alt going to be enough?
Ya know if you want me to test those things out make sure they work ok... i dont have a problem with that at all... I mean atleast they wouldnt be sitting around collecting dust, they would be getting gently broke in... Ya thats it gently broke in...
BTW if you ever toast on of those, i want it, as a conversation piece on my dining room table.
EDIT: I read that the lvl 5's were good for 2-3k on music and 16k on a burp... so all in all they would be run at 3-3.5k a piece... Would that be damaging to them?

I would do 4 subs for daily, However if your smart on how you play your system you could do 2.
Your going to need a couple alts and plenty of batteries. I have about 10K CCA in battery power and just ordered 1 of the 2 Powermaster alts that I need. I really need another 10k in battery to play hard for extended times.
I used 4 runs of 4/0 wire, thats about the min needed for power transfer from alts to back batteries.
Figure that amp will pull at least 1000 amps of power at full tilt.

yea i figured on lots of extra battery power... 10k cca wow thats alot.
So for 1000amps... If memory serves me right 4/0 is good for 400ish amps?
x4 is 1600 amps account for parasitic loss and i figure about 1200 amps would be good through 4 runs of 4/0...
Dang and i was content with the previous system... I just HAD to ask what that amp would cost me... Throws a monkey wrench in everything...
That Alt is the Powermaster SPL Series. Badass power. I just ordered one up. Be careful though, they are not a daily type of alt. They are designed to have no output at idle and produce full tilt at about 1200 rpm.
You should be fine on your wire as long as you keep the run under 25FT. You can see a little more power through it for shorter runs but I wouldn't push it.
The big issue will be batteries. It's going to take a few strong ones.
I would look at the powermaster and Batcap batteries. Both manufacture their batteries unlike others that put a sticker on them.
If your going all out on a system, make sure you cover all sides of the build. One cheap part can cost you a lot of money.

alright... any suggestions for alts? How much amp output should i look for?
And would it be a good idea to get an alt with a higher output and have the spl alt on standby then switch it in during comps?

I would replace the factory Alt with a higher output. 2-300amps is easy to find Then add Alts in as needed.
Like with the 250, I'm replacing the factory then adding in 2 SPL alts for the extra power in the lanes.

So would i leave extra spl alts un hooked during normal daily driving and hook them up when i need them? Have them switched or something? Im not to sure on how that would work... You said they make top power at about 1200rpm... So if i replaced stock alt with 200-300 amp alt then had a spl alt or 2 making another 400 or so amps then that would be 700 amps flowing all the time? For some reason i dont see that being the best of things...

The spl alts would be run off a switch to engage the pulleys. The only reason you wouldn't run them all the time is because of the heat. There are plenty of guys that run multiple alts all day. You could run 3,4, or 5 300 amp daily alts with no problem.

Alright so i would have like an electric clutch for the pulleys and have it switched... Having that many amps constantly flowing into batts wont hurt them? Ive always heard its best to keep amps down... while dealing with batterys anyways...
