I knew it was coming so it wasn't a big deal.

It's when you turn on the system and hear nothing..... thats tough to take.

general rule of thumb is half a farad for every 500 watts i believe. so if your amp is 1500 watts then a 1.5 or lager cap will do. I would suggest an upgrade on the big 3 first. Do a search and im sure it will come up.

Caps have their place but are seldom used right.

If you have a quick flickering of power loss, then I would suggest a cap. However if there is a lack of continous power, then you need to look at the charging system as a whole.

Wire size
grounding
battery

these 3 things need to be addressed to insure you have enough power of the amp.

Wiring. Anything less the 1/0 wire these days is just asking for trouble

Grounding, Look up the "Big 3" it's a must in my book. but also don't over look a good ground at the amp. If at all possible, run a ground from the amp to the battery. yes it's more money but will make all the difference.

When you address the 1st two then add batteries. The alt will be good enough to charge a couple of batteries, Yes it will strain the alt and make it work harder and yeas it will take longer to charge.

After you do all the above then look for a bigger alt.

I did come across the big 3 setup last night,,going to do that this weekend,My 1000watt fusion amp I've been running never really flickered,My truck is an 04 SD F250 crew cab,,not sure what the alt rates for but will look into that also.Thought the cap would just add to the look though. I'm really not sure what my son plans on wiring at,I think he said the subs are 800watts RMS and he's going to put 1000 to them.Just want to make sure ,,cause he has a habit of blowing his stuff up,lol.I like to show my truck,,with a little muddin here and there,,but I like good rockin,,loud system,,that'll turn heads..

I spent most of the day cleaning the baskets for the re-cones. I'm glad thats over.

I started on some glow tonight.

I used a j-Track for a mirror to hold the LEDs in place.

Then squirted some clear silicone to hold them in.

No.

In the 5 min that the subs were playing, I didn't have time to do any testing to it before they gave up.

I hope to get some testing done before I'm back in the lanes. But I might be short on time. My Ear-O-Meter tells me that it is close to what the Excursion was DB wise. 49-51, maybe a tick more with less people in the truck, seat forward and on the right songs. I'll know for sure later this month with a USACI show and DB Drag all in the same weekend.

Too bad we can't get Maxxsonics to bust out with the 18.

I think the DC's will fit the bill nicely

I finally made it through all the reading on this. Very killer system you've go going on Bgalaxy67. Looking very nice. Do you have any finished pics of the door panels? Didn't see if you did both front and rear doors.

Thanks!

I don't.

But I'll get some soon. I haven't started on the grill covers yet. Plenty of time Next show is on the 26th and I'm in Atlanta the weekend before. I guess I better get back to work.
