Here are the pictures and details of the install, the trans install probably cost me about $300.00-$350.00 I used a lot of stock parts. The Driveshaft was the single most costly item, mostly due to my not doing my homework and I wound up spending money unnecessarlily (chasing my tail).

opinion on a flat 6

If Snowking isn't, I have an F-4 that needs a good I6 226H.

Cass;
I have a 226 flathead 6 that I want to sell. It runs like a sewing machine. It was completely rebuilt in Sept. '06. The only reason I'm selling it is because I want to put a flathead V8 in my F1. '48, something I've always wanted. I don't really know what they are going for, but would like to get my rebuild money of $1800.00 back. You're in TN and I'm in Calif. Could be a problem. Ralph.

I am trying to restore a 1937 john deere D and there are several people around here that have a few in there yards that they are going to "fix up", or they want 5,000 dollors for them or more because they think they are worth that mucSo they will sit there until they rot and are of no use or cannot be fixed because the owner is an *********. But hey that is his right but it does nothing for the people who actually want to fix there projects and get them going again and that really pisses me off, and that of course is my right. But the fact of the matter is a flathead six is fairly plentiful and not worth all that much money as you can always find someone willing to give one away. So if you are not going to loose money on it, why not help someone who will use it and sell it at a reasonable price rather than ratholing it until it locks up, or you break your big toe tripping over it?
i know what you mean i saw this nice 36 ford truck 1 1/2 ton i think man i love that truck but the owner says he gone get it fixed up one day but i know its just gonna rot away and that bugs me because i want it so bad
