DROPDOUBT is starting off with a positive reputation.
cranks but no start

i have a 90 ranger 2.9l it cranks but none of the relays get power the coil dosnt spark and feul pump dosent turn on. how do i check power to the ecu?

Does the CEL come on with the key on engine off? The CEL is supposed to come on before starting the engine to indicate that the ECU has power.

we have no dash no gauges or ac or heater the cab is totaly gutted and fully caged.

CEL=Check Engine Light. If you've taken out the dash, then you've probably taken out the CEL. What else have you taken out? Did you lose the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the EEC relay? STandard way to check power to the ECU is to get a wiring diagram, locate the ECU's power wires (I believe there are three at the ECU), and see if they have power using a voltmeter.

rdelp is starting off with a positive reputation.
I had a similar problem on my 1999 ranger... it was the Crank Shaft position indicator. $15 part and 10 mins to change.
