Type of thread sealant?

My new master cyl from CPP has ports on both sides. Can I use teflon tape for thread sealant on the plugs in the unused side?
Thanks
Bob

Yes, but you shouldn't need it with the proper plugs, the threads are self sealing by design.

Thanks AX. The fittings that came with the residual valves have pre-installed sealant on them. That made me wonder.

Even tho it's a plug, I wouldn't use tape on any fittings on any oil system. As you thread it in, it is too likely that a scrap of it will get cut off and float around in the system, someday maybe laying across the seat of a port. TFE tape is forbidden for use on many commercial/industrial systems for this reason. As Ax says, the proper plug should seal as well as a pipe. Go together dry IMO
