86 2.9 no spark

86 2.9 no spark

Hello
I have a 86 2.9 with no spark have replaced everthing and still no spark, Does anyone know how to test ignition moduale, or were eec relay is located it is a 1986 ranger 4x4 auto or any advice

Ken00's tech info post at the top of the BII and Ranger forums has diagnostic tests for the ICM.

On my BII, the EEC relay (along with the fuel pump relay) was under the hood, passenger side fender, next to the air filter housing.

What do you mean when you say you replaced "everything"? Does that include the TFI module on the outside of the distributor and the pickup on the inside of the dist?

The truck wonn't run so I replaced TFI module and truck ran for 10 minutes and quit no spark was doing some testing with key on and not touching anything the coil burnt up. got new coil still no spark then got rebuilt dist and put TFI module on it and replaced still no spark. took off TFI brought to autozone and tested it is good. wondering if it is eec or key switch. any suggestions
