P71 Interceptor

Hey guys, I found a 4.6 liter in a 2003 crown vic, I am considering buying for a swap. The guy was telling me its a p71 interceptor. I have kind of searched around and i cant really find any specs on it, like horsepower and torque. Only thing I can find is whats on wikipedia.

Any information anyone can provide for me would be great.

the P71 package is not about the engine, it is about the add ons like heavyduty alternator, oil cooler, front and rear suspention upgrades, electrical upgrades. the 4.6 in the interceptor is the same engine that is used in all the "panther class" cars.

Good to know. All I found so far on the net was that it was rated at 235 hp. The guy told me the hp rating for it was 260hp. Had to check it out on here!

yeah crownvic.net is the place to go for vic stuff. The P71's have more HP but it is purely from the computer tune and the dual exhaust. Somewhere around '03 they were upped to around 250hp, but the engine is still just a 2V 4.6L with PI heads and intake.

2004 they messed with the computer and bumped it to 250 Hp, 2003 was i think 239
