P0340 Error code on 99' Expy

OMG, I just got this code on sat. My bike is down, so is my RX-7 and I gave my nephew my CRX. Holly crap, this sounds expensive and I don't havethe funds yet.

I'm afraid of dropping it off at the dealer in the morning. I searched for comp cams and they are $600 but it would make sence to do it if i'm paying to the labor anyhow. I've only got 70k miles. I thought the timing chains were good for over 100k?

Usually they are, my wife's Expy have over 150k........

I've got a buddy that works at pep-boys and with his discount i am currently looking at $157 in parts not including a replacement camshaft. Calling ford this morning and getting a price quote on one from them.

I don't see a point in going with an aftermarket camshaft since i'm only replacing one of them and my wife doesn't plan on keeping the Expy very much longer.

It's $900/pair for the comp cams and they add 25 ponies. I don't know what the status of mine is yet since I had to revert back to the stock map and it hasn't thrown the code again yet so the delaer won't look at it untill it does.

Mine starts fine and drives ok but sluggish and the engine is louder then normal.
