inline6er is starting off with a positive reputation.
vibration at 65mph

my son's 88' bronco II (2 wheel drive) automatic w/OD,v-6, has vibration at 60-65mph after he lets off the pedal. acceleration is smooth thru to 65, then starts after he lets off the gas. any ideas?

One thing that could be is an EGR problem (passages clogged), though I would be more inclined to think it is a torque converter/transmission problem.

Does it feel like a shuddering (transmission) or more like a shaking (engine)? Hard to describe in words, but, that is the best I can do on-line.

tahnks for your eeply. it feels like the trans; just had the tranny rebuilt;the vibration doesnt start untill you let off the gas, and is the same from D to OD. the engine RPm dropps with no noticiable change in the vibration.

i agree about checking the u-jionts, had something similar in a chevy. was so bad you could feel it through the transfer case stick
