Is Turbo Back - No CAT OK?
I am concidering to buy the turbo back MBRP exahst system, I was not aware that diesel engins used a cat. converter. (I am new to F350s) Will North Carolina instections look for my catylitic converter? If I buy the exhast system with no CAT will it pass inspection?
I could but the CAT version and run the CAT delete, but I won't bother if NC state inspections will overlook the exhast.

Oh, in response to your question, Is turbo back without a cat OK? Yes. Some guys run them with no muffler too. It is legal, at least in Ky. A straight piped diesel isn't as loud as some performance exhausts on gas engines. They do sound good too. Just try and be sensible and not pi#$ off your neighbors late at night, unless of course they deserve it.

You know, I really don't know if there is a CAT on my truck. I just see alot of talk about CATS when look at exhaust systems. I am surprised that a diesel engin uses a CAT coverter. Knowing my luck, I have the CAT. I will likely get the MBRP Cool dulas with the CAT and use the CAT delete pipe.

I have a '02 F250 7.3. It did not come factory with a cat. I had a turbo back MBRP installed and absouluty love it! I may be wrong but I think Ford started putting cats on diesels in '03 (I think). My service guy at Hilbish Ford told me if my truck did not come with a cat on it from the factory then I was good on the vehicle inspection. I just need a safety not emission inspection.

since we are on the subject of diesels. was following one this afternoon after work and he had something going on. The smoke was white as paper, looked to me like he needed some oil. I dont know what exhaust he had but it didnt sound good IMO. I have a 351 with some 1 chambers that sound awsome. I dunno what 1 chambers would sound like on a diesel. Do diesels have an 02 sensor?? I know my gas motor does. And i think it is behind the cat.
