to get 14.5 mpg? I've got a F250 HD running a 3.55 rear 2wd and reg. cab. This is way more than I was expecting to get. Probably half was city and half highway.

Just out of curiosity what transmission do you have? I get 11/15 with a 351w.

I'd say your on the high side of the average. I'd check your milage at least 3-4 times and make sure YOU top off the tank to get an accurate reading. My gut feeling is people tend to take their best ever MPG and then over time that tends to get exagerated by ten percent or so

I've only had the truck two weeks now and topped it off twice. First time was 13+, second was 14+(more hwy. miles)

You must be living right, because I only get 10 mpg in my 97 F-250 SC 460 (3.55, E4OD auto) and 8 mpg when towing.

I'm not doing to bad w/ my setup. 11 mpg w/ a 71 SWB. The engine is a stock 74 460. That 11 mpg is mostly in town as well. I've never taken it on a long trip but I think it should get 12 on the highway. Who knows. I only turn 2600 rpms at 65 or 70. I guess I have 3.0 or 3.25 in the rear. With the high gearing and the low weight of the SWB, I guess I'm doing about right.
