I believe the head unit contains the sirius receiver. So basically all.

The sirius reciever is a seperate unit from the head unit. Basically it is a rectangle about 10x6x1. I don't know where they are installed during factory installs, my aftermarket (with the Ford reciever module) install is near the subwoofer.

Well they replaced the head unit and didn't bother to check if sirius was working. There is a TSB for it that basically the power needs to be pulled from the sirius module (probably located in the center console, they just did battery overall). And eventually replace the sirius module.

Why the tech didn't check for a TSB, or if the audio worked after fixing it, or pulling out the nav disc (and other cds) prior to pulling the old unit, I don't know.

They pulled battery this AM and we powered up the old one to pull discs. Sirius works again and now am waiting for a new Sirius module. Were it not for the board and me bringing it up to them, they had no idea about said module.
