Arrow Code 14 and bad spark

Hello again...thought you got rid of me, eh.

I have an issue with Pop's BII again (see BII hesitation for a history).

For the last couple of weeks, the truck has had a slight sluggishness when cold, but no problems at all when its warmed up - or so I've been told.

Today the engine stopped unexpectedly and would not start up again - cranking/power is okay.

The locals went right to work by checking spark at the coil. Apparently the spark was yellowish for the first few cranks. After pulling a few plug wires and testing, the spark was blue again and it fired up. They have no idea what they 'fixed'.

The code reader gives #14 (I assume a 'C' code)

Question:
What does a code 14 mean? What would cause a yellowish spark, and where should I begin?

Replaced: TFI, stator, all plug wires, plugs (recent)

Thanks guys. I appreciate your time/help.

I would get a CM 14 when my TFI module would act up. What you describe sounds an awful lot like a TFI failure.

When you replaced the TFI module, did you put adequate dielectric grease on it? From what I understand, the dielectric grease helps dissipate the heat which is what causes this kind of TFI failure.

Did you replace the pickup in the distributor when you replaced the TFI module?

yes, I used the whole packet when I installed it the first time. I later removed the TFI to replace the stator inside the distributor - I did not put any additional grease on the connection as I didn't know for sure what kind of grease it was.

maybe it's worth while to replace the TFI and goop on the dielectric grease...

Apparently it will run for exactly 8 minutes before dying. It will not start again until its cooled off again - sounds like an ignition module/TFI doesn't it...
