oil pressure intermittently drops to nothing

Then right back up again. It doesn't go low, it goes all the way down to nothing. When I rev the engine a bit, it comes right back. I checked the oil, it's fine. If it's actual oil pressure, wouldn't the needle fluctuate to low and then maybe nothing? It's all or nothing here. Let me know.

Well, it may be as simple a bad sending unit.
The gauge is a dummy gauge. If you have over about 6psi, it will read just above 1/2 way. I would change the sending unit and if it still does it, then definitely check the pressure with a real gauge.
