22.5 Mpg

The .7 error was in theMPG O meter..it was better by .7 when hand ccalculated. The increased averages over 600 milers was enough to convince me that something had changed but I do agree that short trips do not tell the tale. I also am skepitcal of the reports of 20MPG or better.I have seen that..down hill. no boost ..26/27...up the other side 9/10 . I have no complaints about a 9200lb truck getting 16/18 on the interstate solo.

i agree.... if you can get mid teens with trucks of this size and with these capabilities, i think there is nothing to complain about. who would of thought 10 or so years ago that you could walk in to a dealership, buy a truck that can tow 15,000lb-20,000lb, and have 350hp and 650ft/lb of torque? it's more amazing that these don't 6 or 7 mpg.

Hey - last night I got 25.3 MPG on the highway. I reset the computer lie-o-meter and kept the truck rock solid at 65 mph. This was driving on a normal highway with light rises and falls over the course of 15 miles or so. Of course, there was a 40-45 mph wind to my back but it was nice seeing that even if it is not normal.
I usually get right at 20 mpg on straight highway driving and about 14 mpg on mixed city/highway driving. While it is not a Prius - a Prius cannot pull my 9,000 lbs. 32' travel trailer either. Sure - I would love to get better miles per gallon, but I feel ok with what I am getting.

Which can be a hard thing to do on it. hehe I live in staunton and yet havent made a trip like that but still doesnt seem right, everyone I know that has a 08 hasnt really been able to do over 15 most of the time, and yes the manual seems to be the trick so far... once the warranty is gone though, by by DPF
I'll be making a trip to Lynchburg here in the next couple weeks and we'll see..

My last hand calc'ed tank came out to about 17.5 MPGs. This was mostly city driving.

Yeah that is why I ordered mine from Obaugh from the factory back in September, and recieved it in early November. I was one of the only 08's around here till recently, now their popping up everywhere, but im still pretty sure im the only manual 08 in this area.

Took 64 on the way back to Williamsburg, that has a few small hills, but nothing like the Poconos in Pa. Next year will be going from Ma to Cedar Point then back down to Va Beach, Hershey Park then home over 3 weeks.I do have to work all day from my cell phones and computers, but the family will have a great time and I'll enjoy after work.
