Actually, Its what you said the computer said, So I have to agree. I call BS. Most of us here own these trucks. I for sure drive one and know what these 2008 vehicles can and can't do and 22.5 mpg is something they can't do.
This thread reminds me too much of fishing. Sounds like your trolling.

Thats why! 22 mpg. Mine shows on the lieometer up to 25 mpg hwy. @ 65 mph. Then when I do the math (handcalculate) only 13/13.5 mpg. I feel real disapointed.

He was talking a steady mph on the highway from the computer. My 450 at 55 shows 18mpg with 4.30's and i'm at 9,000# mty take it to 65 mph and it drops to 12mpg. He has 3.73s with a manual. computer will easily show 22.5. my real average rural and city computer shows 14.3 actual is 13.46 so it is off about 6%.
His real average over 1 months time is probably computer 19 and actual 17.86. that sound very reasonable. Again steady highway and daily are two different things as the same with computer & hand calc. The manuals with 3.73's are showing the best milage. ( thats my opinion from all the treads ) Some guys when they see 18mpg once on a trip it becomes their average. There are a very few that can do it, but it is possible

The 22.5 was over a 3 hr drive (Staunton to Gloucester, VA) at exactly 65. The Tach was about 1900RPM. I had another all hwy drive last week and got 22.6, again going 65 and using the calc.

For those that are being dicks, I don't really care. I am just happy that this thing gets more MPGs than I expected.

I will be doing more calcs by hand as the tanks are emptied.

I have the half back suicide doors (crewcab) and the stock tires that come on an XLT. I know they are on the steel 17 inch wheels.

Well it is striper season but when I go fishing, I go out to the Bay.

I am not lying about the numbers and will not spend my time defending myself on a silly internet forum. Read my other posts, they are all serious and I have been a member hear for some time.

How off is the computer known to be?

Dave.

My calc was over a 3hr drive not a brief moment going downhill.

My Lie-O-Meter is consistantly in the range of 6% -7.5% off.

I filled my 450 yesterday with the lie-o-meter reading of 11.4, when I did the math of miles divided by gallons it proved to be 10.6

It is what it is and I have seen my lie-o-meter say 18 mpg which I know is BS and never calculates out to that.

Well I wish mine did that well.. Mine is broke.I have seen 18's on a nice level interstate at 63/65 mph solo. More likely 15's and 16's.I need to have a chat with Ford about 22.5's and 17.5's//

dwilliamsceg, do take it the wrong way. I wished we all could get that kind of mileage. I've just seen the reality of real life driving. If thats what you got, I'm envious.
