i believe that the the supercharger article that used to be on the home page said that the factory 5.4 made 207 hp and 247 tq at the wheels. how does 300 hp and 365 tq add up to that? spending another addtional 1200 dollars should not be the alternative. im not trying to trash ford, i just hear this stuff from alot of the guys on the forum.

About the supercharger article:

1. That was not a "factory" Ford. It was a Roush F150 with 70lb 20 inch wheels. They, along with the fact that its a 4x4, rob a lot of power.
2. If its Roush... the warranty is intact for 36,000 miles.

HP numbers sell the vehicles. My cousin is all 'Chevy' fanatic. Didn't used to bother me that he trashed Ford until I started owning them (went from GM to Ford). Ford vehicles never give me problems. I know I'm not THAT lucky, but you can get reliable vehicles for good money.

Anyways, this guy is always going on about how much horsepower the GM this or GM that is making. Was telling me about Colorado's new 2.9 liter 4 cyl making something like 197 horsepower. Then went on to say that Ford's 3.0 V6 was hardly doing better or something. Like I give a crap about vehicles like that, anyways. And who gives a **** about a 4 cyl truck ANYWAYS??!?!!

He's always going on about the new Chevrolets like they are the baddest things... all while the 2008 Ford F-150 has the highest GVCR rating of the 1/2 trucks, if I remember correctly. It was an advertisement in a magazine for the 2008 F-150.

Not to mention, the new Chevrolets are butt ugly. They really are. Those trucks look like tonka toys.

I'll agree the power lost in that truck was pretty big, though even completely stock non 4x4 trucks will make 230ish hp and 280ish tq max... lets face it, ford detuned the crap out of the motor; hence why a tune brings these things up so much and you hear gains of 30hp and 50tq from sct/jlt and such...
