Thought about the Chevy due to the 6.0 powerplant but I like the new things Dodge has done. Simply put I dont think I will own another Ford 1/2er for a long time, they just dont seem to want to compete.

I see the F-150 is winning by a wide margin here....Just shows witch truck is preferred...

Yeahhh but with all of the Tundra trolls ..I would have thought Tundra would have a few more votes....

I would pick a ford. I know we arent supposed to say why, but heres why
If it was totatlly true and free, not a cent to me i would try a f150 out just to take it to the limit, and test it out. I do like ford trucks in general and I do respect other brands.
If I had to buy one, it might be a little different.

Since it's only half-tons, I"ll take the '09 Ram, even though I currently work for a Chevy dealership and drive a Ford. If you throw in 3/4 tons and 1-tons, then I'd go Ford hands down.

Ford By No Contest. Nobody Even Talks About Chevy Anymore And Dodge Has Always Played Catchup. Ford Has Been On Top For Over 30 Years Now And NO SignS Of Letting Up.WHY IS EVERYBODY SCARED OF THE NEW LOOK?

Honestly I'd take whichever one has the highest current resale value, because as soon as I arrive home with my free truck its getting a FOR SALE sign in the window.
I could do a lot of work on my home and my 3 current rigs with the 30+ grand I'd get out of any of those goofy looking plasticy trucks.

I'll second that.

I picked the F150 because at the moment it seems to be the best compromise but it isn't perfect.
F150 Advantages - big crew cab with 6.5' box, 6 spd auto, nicest interior, tailgate steps, towing hardware; Disadvantages - relatively low mileage and power compared to the competition, first year gremlins especially with soon to be released all new engines?, no AWD in multispeed xfer case
Dodge Ram Advantages - AWD, good power and mileage with Hemi MDS; Disadvantages - small box with crew cab
Toyota Tundra Advantages - big Crew Max cab, 6 spd auto, good power; Disadvantages - short box with Crew Max; first year gremlins, no AWD in multispeed xfer case, plasticky dash
Chev/GMC Advantages - Autotrac with 4HI and 4LO, good power with 6.0L, choice of dash layouts (as opposed to choice of dash trim levels); Disadvantages - 4 spd auto with anything but a Denali, small box with crew cab
Nissan Titan Advantages - good power / mileage combination, long bed available with crew cab; Disadvantages - possibly discontinued leading to poor dealer support?, poor mechanical reliability in axles and brakes, no AWD in multispeed xfer case
The first manufacturer who has all of the following will get my money when it becomes time to buy.
- good powerful V8 (gas or diesel) with reasonable mileage (i.e. not slowest and lowest) and good tow rating
- 6 speed automatic transmission
- AWD setting in a multimode XFER case including 4Hi and 4Low
- 6.5' box with full crew cab size
