Probably basically the same thing. Its just a toolbox under the bed with an access door infront of the wheelwell. Chebbys had it, jimmy-C's too.

I'd love to see that come back.

so....are we all in agreement that the new dodge is far superior to the new ford?

They would not be accessible with a toolbox on the truck, but they are there instead of having to get the tool box

67-72 trucks are called bumpsides because the bodyline bumps out down the side of the truck.
73-79 are dentsides because the bodyline is indented.

Is this just Dodge's pitiful answer to the 2009 F-150 Midbox?

Lockable storage. The innovative Midbox is an enclosed storage system that’s mounted in front of the standard pickup box and behind the cab. Available on Regular Cab with 145-inch wheelbase and SuperCab with 163-inch wheelbase, Midbox provides an additional 26.3 cubic feet of protective, lockable storage for tools and other valuable equipment without compromising the use of the full pickup box. Rugged steel construction features double-paneled doors that are accessible from both sides of the vehicle. The doors lock and unlock with the same key that operates the driver’s door, and the dent-resistant exterior door panels are fitted with factory Ford door handles for an integrated look. Latches feature double-bitted keys and lock tumblers designed to provide exceptional security. In addition, commercial grade sealing provides a weather- and dust-resistant interior compartment.

I wonder if the "rambox" has a removable liner?.... A friend of mine and i see the possibility of an aireated livewell for trips back from the lake. Sure would be nice to be able to take it out and hose it down to get it clean.

I think it a good ideal. For some extra storage, why dont they box the rear bumper and hinge the top of it for more storage for towing supplies? I made a few for some utility trucks about 15-20 years ago. They were hinged at the rear and lockable.
