Fun day on the "farm"
So, some of you kow my place butts up against a subdivision...anyway, I'm out back and the wife is hollering at me, seems our "back door" neighbor is here letting us know our Heifer is in his back yard.
As I come up front to talk to the guy, I ask him how that happened, seemes he took my fence down (T-post and barb wire) to try and repeair his Redwood picket fence..seems he ran out of "mustard" a few days ago and figured all would be okay.
Well, son of a gun...he and his family were a bit concerned when my cow was roaming around thier pool...
Now get this, when I went out back to see what was up, apparently they decided (after the fence was down and the cow go into thier place) to push thier fence back up and stake it in so it wouldn't fall back over...all well and good...but how the heck did they think the cow was going to get back home?
They told me "We thought it would just jump the fence"
(City folk...gotta love'em, or I'd have to shoot'em.)
"No" I say..."have a sledge?"
So, the Dad say's yes...ran into his garage and grabbed one...really did it in a hurry, in retrospect i think he thought I'd smack the cow on the head and drag it home.
Should have seen the look on his face when I dismantled an 8foot section of his fence
So, 15 t-post's later and a few old rolls of barbed wire, and I'm good for awhile, dunno what he's going to do about his fence though...sorta had this strange, goofy look on his face as I was beating on the old, rotten 4x's to knock it over.
