1966 f250 Crew Cab AZ - no rust
Hello,
I haven't been on this forum in a long time. I posted a picture of a 1966 f250 (factory) crew cab, Arizona (the brown one). It appears to have been an arizona truck probably its entire life. I live in Arizona were rust is almost non existant. Which brings me to my point. I wanted to restore the truck, but with all my other projects and health I believe I will probably sell this truck. This wasn't a "ship out and convert crew cab" this is a factory original. It is also a factory "automatic" truck. The orginal owner replaced the engine and tranny with a C6/390 combo. The top half of the 390 has been taken off and let sit. I know these are rare, but I have never seen one as nice as this with orginal paint and solid body (because of the lack of rust). Aside from the engine/transmission the truck is all there, except the tail gate. I wanted to get a rough idea of what this is worth. I actually thought of waiting until next year and trailering it up to the Barrett-Jackson car auction next year when it moves to Las Vegas. I wanted to do it next week with auction in Scottsdale AZ (about 20 miles away) next week, but my health does not permit it. I am just seeking info on possible values. Thanks. John

LOL... another pipe dream.... Barrett Jackson.....
Is a factory crew or a crown conversion? There are no pics in your gallery.
I can take a look at it and value it for you. I currently drive a 69 factory Highboy crew. First thing is you have to remember you are in Arizona and the truck is basically worthless here. The second factor is the cost of shipping it anywhere else.

Where are then pics posted? Where in AZ are you?
Could you list two things here? The DSO, which is on the Warranty Plate, left door face near the latch, and the Body Code, also listed on that plate.
A 1966 should be a factory build, as early 1965's were Crown Coach built, while late '65's were built by Ford.
I'm interested in buying it. P/M me your phone number....I have relatives in AZ, near Tombstone and in Scottsdale, so I'm not concerned about shipping it too far.

misunderstood
my mistake...I know that it is not Barret-Jackson material...I know that there are tons of deals around the auction. In Scottsdale there are hundreds of small sales in the parking lot during the auction that get a lot of exposure. i should have clarified.
Thank you for your responses. As for those who have e-mailed and requested to see the truck in person, maybe in a month or two...I have a small medical procedure that I have to have at the end of this month. I will try and post the vin and data for this vehicle. The photos are under my original user name ofcdn, but for some reason it expired and wouldn't let me renew...just look up 1966 f250 arizona...it is dark brown.
Thanks again...I remember this post a few years ago and the people are just fantastic here. Oh, I might also post my "family, originally owned, bought new in Phoenix, 1967 f250 camper special." It was my wife's father's truck, he passed and left it to her. She is now talking about selling it! I already have an idea what that is worth, but if she decides to sell it, I will post it here first. (I told her that my 1966 Mustang Pony was staying, no matter what, but we could possibly sell the rest!) I opened my big mouth.
Thanks again

The mirror: In another thread is a discussion of factory Western type mirrors, and this '66 CC has a perfect example of one.
'66 CC: I can no longer fit behind the wheel of my '65 F100, and have wanted a CC for yrs, but most are rust buckets. I'd buy this one, fix the mechanicals and install power buckets, from a Ford of course, then I'd have an older pickup that can be driven. I'd still keep the '65, I'm in it over 30K, and even tho it's in #1 condition, the chances of getting my money back are slim and none.

Thems Blems Bill W in Tuscon.......LOL
Still looks like a survivor to me, that needs a full restore. A fender cab corner or post fix is all part of the game to restore. BTDTALTTTT.
My Suicide Crew had the bottom 12 inches replaced of the entire cab. Lots of hours fabricating patch panels.

Advice from Bill Wilson to...uh...Bill Wilson.
Waltz on down to your local drug store and buy a pair of reading glasses that you can use when squintin' at the 'puter screen...works for me.
