1990 Bronco II Questions

All right I just picked up a 1990 Bronco II with a new engine for $500 bucks. Nice huh? Its a 2.9L 2WD but come on, 500. =D

A few minor problems but nothing big. > >

Ok we replaced the window tonight but I gotta ask cause I got a bet going with my dad. We had to replace the driver door glass cause someone busted in and jacked the radio from the previous owner. Now when I bought the new glass it had the bracket and everything on the bottom, and we couldn't get it in cause of the posts sticking out, so we had to grind the rivets on the bracket off and replaced em with bolts. Was there an easier way to do it? > >

> >

Ok next, the stereo got ripped out and I don't know what else happened to the wiring but theres no power to the cheap ass replacement radio and the cigarette lighter doesn't work. Where could I get a diagram to figure out whats going on in there? Or if I posted pictures of the wiring could someone tell me whats wrong? > >

> >

Also the horsepower is a little on the low side; its a bitch to merge it onto the highway. What would you recommend doing to get some more HP and torque? > >

> >

What mods would you recommend for this ride? It's my first real project car and I'm breaking out of basic maintenance and really looking forward to working on it.

the window..you did it right..that's what i had to do when i replaced the passenger window.
Hp...Is the Cat Converter clogged?
Power for radio..just run some power straight from the battery or find a source that comes on only when the key is on.

That is SOP.

A Haynes Repair manual will do. Bring it back to stock, put female vinyl covered connectors on the wires and work from there. Besides the speaker wires, there are four main wiresto the radio.

Probably sloppy stretched cables with an automatic, take up the slack behind the gas pedal with lead fish weights or zip ties.

Would this be the same on a standard?

For the throttle cable, yes.
