Check the number stamped on the stick if it is 1820068C1 it was marked wrong.

Neal, do you run the truck for a bit and then check again after you have filled it? Initially, I guess I only put in about 14-14.5 quarts and it is fine. But then I run the truck for about 5 minutes and that fills the filter up and I end up putting two more quarts in to bring it to a decent level.

1824405C1

Well I usually fill the filter almost all the way up before I reinstall it. Then I end up using 1.45 to 14.8 quarts. My owners manual says 14 but I have heard some of the SD trucks with 7.3's require 15 by the book. I haven't actually seen their book...Then again I have an EX with a 7.3, I guess Icould look at it. I will do that when I get Home as I am in Arizoner Right now.

Your X will call for 15 quarts. They also have a different dipstick. I will be putting a SD dipstick in my truck soon since its a pain to get to now with the IC pipe in the way.

mine takes 14 plus whatever i dump into the filter before installation.
