Fuel pump(s) bad - again!

Some of you may remember my thread about the fuel issues with my '88. It's probably not neccessary to go back through it again. The short story is the BII wouldn't start awhile back and after troubleshooting I discovered both fuel pumps were bad. I replaced them and it started but was running really rough. I did a tune-up; cap rotor plugs etc - and it wouldn't start again. After more troubleshooting, I find both the brand new pumps are bad! WTF?? Any ideas? I can't afford to go buy new pumps again if there's an underlying issue. The new in-tank pump had a new screen so I don't think it's a dirt issue. I'm pretty pissed off at this point and since all it does is plow snow, I'm thinking maybe I should put a carb and intake on it with a 5 gallon boat tank in the back and an old-fashioned low pressure electric pump. Or else maybe throw a match in it

Help I M Stuck is starting off with a positive reputation.
pull the pump out..hook it to 12volts..listen for it to spin..if it don't then tap it on a block of wood. This will help dislodge anything stuck in it. Then hook it back up to 12volts again and listen for it to spin. It dont matter which way you hook voltage to it..it will either suck or blow. I hook it up in both directions to make sure it blows out any dirt in it. I've never had to buy a new fuel pump because one was "bad" Majority of the time they get sludged up, little rusty, or some dirt stuck in them.
Other thing..check to make sure fuel is flowing to the fuel injectors also.

I pulled both new pumps out and hooked 'em up to 12v. Neither one spins. The high pressure pump show about 150kohms and the low pressure pump about 7.5 ohms on the ohmeter. This would indicate to me the the windings are good on the low pressure pump and open on the high pressure pump.
