Check the o-ring on your primary filter cap? It sounds like you don't have a good seal and the fuel isn't making up to the secondary filter.

After changing the fuel filters, make sure you use the proper procedure (cycling your key on and off) to pre-fill the secondary fuel filter before you attempt to start the truck.

Did this start immediately after filter replacement or days later? I usually turn the key on twice for 30 seconds a piece and it starts right up.

There is an inlet valve in the HFCM that is opened when that filter is seated as the cap is replaced. Be sure the cap seats fully against the lip (don't overtighten).

1. Are you using Racor filters or aftermarket filters. Some A/M don't fit correctly.

2. Always lube the O-ring with motor oil, not fuel prior to torqing. Fuel can swell the O-ring and cause a leak.

3. The cap must be fully seated but not over torqued.

thanks guys it ways days later. i use luber finer l4604f fuel filters. another thing i was running wvo. worked great for about 4 tanks of running 100%. it was just a little harder to start. i'm gonna go through the hfcm tommorow to see if the inlet valve is clogged. i was thinking the pick up screen in the tank was clogged so i pulled the tank and it is clean. i'm was just wondering because the pump works just no fuel flow.

I do not think that Luber Finer makes Racor style fuel filters. You may want to stick w/ filters from International - at least replace them this time and see if it resolves the problem. Be sure to fill / purge the system before cranking.
