Question which engine should i use

I have an 85 bronco2 with a 2.8 that has lost spark.I also have a 2.9 out of a 89 that i scrapped complete with wiring harness and brain that will run. Which would I be better off with?My 85 has the 5 speed manuel and lockouts. Will the 2.9 even fit this trannsmision? I'm not sure but I love the little broncos.

the 2.9 will work..hopefully you kept the exhaust headers for the 2.9. You'll need to put a fuel pump in the tank or swap in a tank with one already in it. Hopefully with that 2.9 you have EVERTHING..heads/intake/exhaust... It WILL bolt to the transmisison.
