Six-speed manumatic/auto stick?

Does anyone know if the new F-150 6-speed auto will be a manumatic/autostick like the new Tundra?

i think he ment the position of the shifter its self. i hope it on the colem for some of the xlt trucks, cant stand it on the floor, makes it feel like a car/suv. But i think they are trying to go for the look of a luxuary car with the shifter beeing on the floor like that.

What I think he’s trying to ask is can you manually up shift/downshift the automatic transmission? Just like the Subaru tribeca and the new GMC Denali.

That's unfortunate. Toyota. Lexus, Dodge, and various others all have it. It's a particulalry nice feature for controlling downshifts through mountain roads or slowing to a stoplight instead of using your brakes alone. I really wish it had it.

The trans does not have the manual shift feature. But you can still shift the transmisson to downshift or up shift just move the gear selector.

Right but how many selections are you gonna have?

D 5 4 3 2 1?

I am wondering if this transmission will have a Tow/Haul Mode.

With my Current F-150 I always tow with the OD OFF. I am not a fan of gear fishing.. and I want my '06 to last until 12 so I can get the new model F-150 then.

From the looks of the gear selector it will be D 3 2 1 and the O/D button will turn off compound overdrive gear 5 and 6.

The way that this reads, the new 6 speed and the engine programming has a Tow/Haul mode built in. Look at the section headlined as The Ultimate Towing Vehicle.

shifting auto

I would love to drive an automatic that you can shift to increase or decrease performance when needed, I think that would be pretty cool.
