the truxxx list claims to be 3" in the front, but when you get it it measures to be 2" in front 1" in the rear.
Interesting... so, will it clear 35's on a 4x4 as they claim? I'd prolly only go 33 or so, but just curious.
Also, anybody know how wide I could go on stock 18's without rubbing (both at stock height and with the spacers)? I've got the crappy Scorpion 255/70-18's right now and if I dont do anything else, I'll at least be putting some D or E load rated 275/65-18 A/T's on it.
Yes, I'll be 'wheeling in it. I figger if I can negotiate a lot of the mountain trails here in Colorado with an Excursion, I oughta be able to have at least some fun in the Expy. It'll be interesting to see how the IFS/IRS and traction control measures up against the solid axle/leaf spring combo on the Excursion. I had two Grand Cherokee's w/ 2" spacers before the Excursion -- and other than being restricted by width a couple times, I could get it anywhere I could get the Jeeps. Got a lot of strange looks at the end of a few trails with people trying to figure out how the hell I got that beast in there.

I dont know how much of a difference the 4x4 vs the 4x2 ride height is, but with the Truxx kit, my 4x2 has less than a 1/4 " to spare in the front, and thats a full suspension travel check at the shop. I doubt the 4x4 has an extra inch in clearance from the front fender/bumper plastic over the 4x2. But, it wouldn't take much trimming to make it work, less than 10 mnutes, and it would still look factory if done neatly. That was the only component front or rear that was even close.
As far as not lifting the 07Expy, it looks great with the leveling kit, and does line the receiver up quite nicely with the hoods of the yuppies here in San Diego...
I installed the lift tonight and think they sent me the wrong pieces for the front. It says 3" front and 2" rear, but all 4 pieces were identical in thickness (height). Do you remember yours being an inch thicker spacers in the front?

Mine now sits quite a bit higher in the rear.
I'm thinking about doing it on mine... how was the install? How long did it take you? Any special tools needed?
Thanks in advance!

Wasn't bad at all. Dealing with struts isn't my favorite thing to do, but it only took me about 2 1/2 hours by myself. One thing I found was that in the instructions the warn you about the difficulties of putting the strut back in if you don't remove the front drive shaft. The picture must show an '05 because mine sure wasn't going to unbolt the way they showed. So I did all four without removing the drive shaft and it didn't cause any dramas. I think it was actually beneficial because it added some support for the spindle instead of having it just hang from the lower ball joint and brake line.
No special tools. Wrenches & sockets up to 1 3/16" and a hammer to break the ball joints and that was it.

Well thats good to hear. This was with the Truxxx kit, right?
Maybe by the time I get it ordered and here, we'll quit having 10 degree weather here in Colorado so I can do the install without freezing to death.

they must have sent you the wrong parts, the front are clearly different than the rear. The rears are about half the thickness and are shaped slightly differently. The fronts measure right around 2 inches thick and the rears were right around 1 inch.mine looked exactly like the ones in this picture http://truxxx.com/ford_products/106030.htm
ones on left of picture fit in the rear, the other two for the front.
