more 302 ??

i've read in a few threads about 1.7 rockers and an electrical fan for more power. Just wondering how much of a HP and Torque increase would i actually feel outta these upgrades. and if i'm better off with something else for approximately the same price.

Iam not 100% sure but I dont think that roller rockers will give you any more horse power, they just free up alot extruded energy by removing the valve springs .

1.7 rockers actually open the valves more than the stock 1.6 ratio rockers, so you will gain TQ and HP. How much? Hard to say but you will feel it from the driver's seat so it's significant. The electric fan is harder to quantify, you remove the constant load of the belt driven fan and substitute an occasional load. In colder weather this will allow the motor to warmup faster which should help milage, but any HP gains will be obtained at higher rpms, so you won't really feel anything from the drivers seat. These are both good mods but for different reasons.

If you do decide to get some rockers, go all out and go full roller if you can afford it. If you can't, at least get the roller fulcrum. Most people get the roller tipped rockers, but most of the resistance in the rocker comes from the fulcrum.

i think the electric fan and the rockers are a good choice. I think you will see more power improvments from the rockers less the fan. Both will only increase top end power. If you are looking for low end maybe a x pipe. are you running a stock cam? If still running the stock cam might want to spend your money on something larger, also something to keep in mind when swapping rockers, that puts more strain on the pushrods and lift assembly, and the engine could float the valves sooner due to the increased lift. I would recomend get a better cam, new double roller timing set, new lifters, a good set of pushrods, your 1.7 rockers, and the matching valve springs.

He can't go with too big of a cam because the computer will try compinsate for it and the motor will run like crap... thats if he dont get a custom tune...

depends on whether you're on speed density or MAF. MAF will handle it for the most part, but don't even try on speed density.

Not if it's running right. That's why all the hi-po guys want the maf setups off of later 302 mustangs, is because they can mod the engine and it will compensate.

well i'll see how mine runs cause i put a mild cam by crane cams in my 302 with a gt 40 upper/lower intake w/ ported heads... my truck came from factory with the MAF which was a good thing then for mods...
