Here is a pic of the truck... not the best pic but its what I have of it for now. I use it for pulling engines on boats... runs excellent and the boom works great as well. Just want to get it painted and replace the really bad parts which is the right fender, grille, and bumper. Who ever owned it before did not mind putting dents in it lol. And the michigan rust!

Ok.. heres the donor truck and the swb frame... Ive already stripped the cab.. and within a week Ill have the frame stripped for blasting
I have already removed the service body in this picture

And now down to the chassis

Getting them apart is easy.. its the hundreds of hours of getting them back together that is hard

Guys.. I am throwing out a restoration question...
actually ,more than one....

It relates to heavy trucks f500-f700.. and not the pickup series..

This is not a law question.. I clearly understand what the law is ...and I also understand that answering this question in public forum may not be advised.. so if you do have an answer for me,, please IM me ,,, it is a restoration question

1) Does anyone know where I can obtain period factory correct ford Vin rivets for the door Vin.. Year one.. anywhere? Hemmings?

I am interested in media blasting the all the body parts.. changing the "under" factory color.. which was silver and painting everything fire engine red from the ground up.. dash cab floor.. everything.. all in one color.. my truck has already been inspected by CHP,,,, if you use ANY rivet other than factory ford they reinspect the truck and put a blue chp vin sticker on the truck.. I dont want this on my restoration
Obviously this is done because crooks re Vin stolen vehicles

2) Are there secondary vins on the heavy duty trucks.. I havent found one on either of my complete tear downs yet.. I intend to put the 1979 cab back on the swb frame.. which is a 1973 donor truck

Thank You for the vin answers.. it is resolved

Ok onto other questions

1)Could someone please tell me definitively what engine series my 1973 330 is ( the guide on here doesnt list a 330.. but does list a 332?)...

2) Does the 460 have the same tranny and engine mount configuration... and how about a 7.3 navstar diesel?

I can access either engine ... but wanted to keep the 5 speed from the 330 because all the linkage etc is so clean

thanks

notme

I have got some headway on my truck... body work and primer done... ran out of time this year to finish it up. Will have to wait until spring to finish it!

I have found finding parts for these trucks virtually impossible... found a few parts that I needed on line...
When the price of steel was sky high a while back all the yards were turning these things in for scrap.
Soooo.... if you have any of these trucks around parts ect... they are worth there weight in gold lol!!! seriously!
