70 mph will get you to the slow lane here, barely. Unless its rush hour 75-80 is the norm in the metro Atlanta area. 70 will work when towing, but will result in a lot of people cutting you off if you'e not. Not saving its right or wrong... but it is the reality.
Ken what is the speed limit there? In my State I found out there going to raise it to 70

Yeah...and FORD is canceling the Ranger too. So now what???
IMO...FORD is just out of touch with reality. I mean they are giving up in so many segments just because the vehicles are not selling in the #1 or #2 spot. They have abandoned the mini-van, Excursion, and now the Ranger. Instead of giving up an entire segment...why not build better vehicles to compete?!?!? They are only hurting themselves...and it would be better to sell 10,000 mini-vans or Rangers, then ZERO...

Sounds about like the Twin Cities depending on the time of day

In the metro area its 55. Its not until you get further out that its 65 and 70. Then the stakes often raise higher.
You know people are hung up on innovations in newer cars and trucks and they end up getting themselves in trouble and forgetting all about common sense tail gating even more and more wrecks..
And with these car and truck ads making things look bullet proof is really over the top because some out there lose touch with reality on what there cars and trucks should be.

There discontinuing the Ranger?
If they are that is stupid. I am eventually was going to get a ranger to keep the mileage down on the V10 and get better mpg to boot.
Is there any evidence to back up that they are continuing forward with a possible F100 or ranger? Or maybey they will stop production for a year while doing R/Dand come out with a new model. If they would just redesign it more often then 15+ years they would sell more for sure.
Well the Ranger makes money for Ford. Its an old desighn thats been tried an proven so they havent had to retool anything or spend a ton off money on producing it. Now for redesign that would be different. The market for small trucks isnt out there anymore. The Rangers fuel mileage isnt that much more then a 150 so people go that route. GMs new compact trucks arnt selling that well either. Go with the flow as they say. Ford just can not take chances on products that will not sell. Ford would have to upgrade a plant to make them if there totally redesighned. Lots off questions to ask.
That's true. They should have updated the dang thing. The Peeps that work at the Twin Cities assembly plant are SOL.
Then in a year, or two. When Ford realizes that their missing out on a fuel effcient small truck. They'll jsut start building them in Mexico. There by cutting out more American Jobs.
I don't know what GM was thining when they designed the COlorado?
It costs just as much as a low dollar Sierra, and gets jsut about the same fuel milage.

There not a fuel efficient as they should be. Most rangers I know with 4wd barely get over 20 MPG. 150s dont get much less. Hey Id buy a Ranger if i could get 30. But they wont do that. I really think off Ford was doing better financially they would have redesigned it but thats not the case. F series is what Ford is wooried about. There biggest money makers. Ford has spent a ton off money on plants devolpment off the truck. They dont want to lose the market on that truck. Ford spent megabucks on the truck plant in Dearborn for the 150. Its probably the most state off the art plant in the industry so the Ranger is on the backburner for now.
Ford has sold so many rangers also that the market is still flooded with them. Cheap and reliable also so whats the point in buying a new one? Newer styling, same engines, options, ect..
