THE KING is starting off with a positive reputation.
And im sure there where people who thaught the 1992 F-150 was Fugly..... Toyota in my book wont be able to compete with the new 150. The new motors that have more hp (Unless ford lied about the hp like toyota did with the tundra (HP rating over what the Rev limiter will allow STUPID!) Which i doubt they did). Best looking 150 since the 92+

Wow ford really dropped the ball in the horsepower/ torque department. The new "improved 5.4" gets boosted to 310 hp/ 375 lbft torque. Hopefully the new driveline will be efficient.

So are you saying that Ford is owned by a Japan company?

??????

i guess maybe you were not around or maybe never read or whatever, but i will explain a little.

years ago japanese cars were thought of as a joke and everyone pretty much dismissed them, and even now days some people do.

they started with just importing them here, well, they grew and grew until one day they now outsell gm and ford and chrsyler in the car market and toyota now outsells ford all together. now they are manufactering them here and taking a bigger peice of the pie each year from the domestic auto companies.

in light of the past historical aspects of the automotive business, light truck sales for the japanese may not be on par with for or gm right now, but given the huge increase over even 10 years ago for japanese light trucks, it is stupid to just dismiss them as not being competitive in that market.

a 53% increase is a huge jump for any product sales, ford may have the upper hand in light truck sales now, but what about 10 years from now?

Old Rust Bucket is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Well at least they quit putting eggs on the front of their trucks. Egg yolks belong in the frying pan not the front of a truck.

Whoa... Whoa... Whoa...

First, thats a bit much don't you think?
I have had a Toyota (1996 Landcruiser Trayback) it was hardly a death trap, and hardly low quality garbage either (and I bleed Ford blue).
In fact it had much higher quality than the 03 Superduty that replaced it.

And as for Toyota - I am all for them producing better products, if they don't, why would Ford?
The only reason we will be seeing things like the Boss V8 and the diesel F150, is because Ford will be pooping thier pants about Toyota being more competitive in the lucrative truck market (and quite rightly so - after having a chance to look over the Tundra)
