Edge Evo - Dash pod redesigned????

I was over on the Edge website the other day and noticed that all of the pics of the Evo for the 04-08 150's were in what apeared to be an updated dash pod.

Has Edge redesigned the pod, or were they just showing the pod for the S-Duty Additude module (or somethign else) in a generic photo???

If they have redesigned the pod I'd like to order one, as the one on the website looks much better than what mine came with 2 years ago.

BTW, I emailed the same ??? to Edge last week and haven't received a response.

Yes it's a new pod. Painted to match the Grey colour and has a rubber casing that the edge slips into, instead of plastic on plastic like the old pod.

Followup question for Edge users w/ the dash pod.
I'm considering using the Edge dash pod to house another device (widescreen GPS). I realize there would be some customization, but wanted to see if it is even feasible. I wanted to see if I could get some quick dimensions from someone.

What is the width and height (estimated) of the Edge device itself?
What is the width and height (est) of the hole the Edge would set in (the dash pod hole)?
What is the width and height (est) of the dashpod (including the bezel)?

Thanks in advance.

The color is still off....I have the old school black one, went to my local Dupont jobber store, they gave me a 1/2 pint of color matched grey for free and then i sprayed it. Perfect match.

if u pull the ashtray out, the edge is a perfect fit. drilled a small hole in the back of plastic behind where the ashtray slips in and ran the cable behind. i prefer it to mounting on the dash, but that's just me

the mounting pod actually just sits on top of the dash pieces, so you dont remove any of the stock pieces.... then the cable just runs down to your OBDII port. after you install it a couple times, you will see that you can install or remove it in a matter of seconds..... its very easy. as for the monitors, you can watch up to 4 readings at a time, and you have about 15 to choose from, like..... oil temp, instant MPG, average MPG, battery voltage, fuel line psi, accelerator position, tranny temp, oil psi, water temp, cylinder head temp, and some others that i cant think of off the top of my head. plus, you can read and clear diagnostic codes, and also do 0-60 or 1/4 mile times.

Why do you mention "after installing it a few times" for? Wouldn't you just install hook it up and be done with it? Iam new to what this is , and very interested in it as well so thats why Iam asking. But ya why would you want to disconnect for? Out of sight from thieves when parked, or what?

Probley if you take it to the dealer for warrenty work. Dont think they'd be happy to see a programmer in the truck.

Why is that having a programmar a big deal for? You have aftermarket air and exhaust and were not taking them off going to the dealer. Why?

yes, it is for the dealer..... and no mine here wouldnt be happy to see one.... their stingy like that. some guys on the boards have had good luck with the dealers being ok with the edge units... i havent tried to test them. but, the reason i dont leave it in there, and my aftermarket exhaust stays on is simple.... they have to prove that the modification caused the problem.... that being said, exhaust is very unlikely to cause a problem, but a programmer could if used incorrectly. so, by removing the edge, there is no possibility that they could try to falsely blame the edge for anything !!!
