Trip to and from Edmonton

I took my 89 to edmonton on the 31st, and just got back tonight. The whole trip went good, I got an average of 17 mpg driving at 115.
On the way there I seen 4 dead vehicles on the road. Unfortunatly all fords! 2 older rangers, 1 early 90's thunderbird, and a mystique.

On the way back I seen 2 dead vehicles, none fords! 1 hyaundai, and a dodge half ton.

I even got to race an audi in edmonton. He spanked me but it was fun none the less!

Good trip, nice to not have any problems.
Probably at a 100 kph you`d get close 20/21 mpg like my 93 XLT F150/351 used to get.

Tell me about it, I still miss it.
We sold it to with only 111, 000 kms on it and bought Nancy`s 98 Ranger Ever since I`ve always thought we should have kept that sweet ride instead.

thats a decent clock for sure prep!! as for dead vehicles...i seen 2 chebbies, a dodge and a brand new toyota this week...all being pulled away by the city's PSD. there was a saskenergy F350 being towed too, but we all know it was a parking violation...

So far today my truck has a little knocking sound on the right front hand side, goes away when i step on the brake. Still not bad for stuff going wrong!

I'm just wondering what is with all these new age cars dead on sides of roads, I've never seen so many cars 5 years or younger parked.

For the most part I agree with ya ryan, they just dont make vehicles like they used to. Back in the day the only time you seen ANY kind of vehicle on the side of the road is cause they ran out of gas!!

Yeah sherm Im guessing a loose caliper, just havent had the time or energy to go check yet!

I think it is mainly to do with the owners, had to explain to a roomates cousin, just because you have oil pressure on the gauge it doesn't mean the oil is good.

Also batteries is prob the main cause, too many electronics which is fine but I don't know if storage battery techonlogy has kept up.

i think the cause is the sales race. everyone is to blame, including our beloved fords. they all want the sales majority and it makes them pump vehicles out before proper testing and research is done on them... jus' my opinion...
