79 f250 4x4 4spd 460 swap q's

what's the difference in the clutch between a stock 3 finger (i dont know the proper name) or diaphragm style clutch compared to what L and L gives you in their kit? is their flywheel a custom setup, like a 390 turned down for the input shaft?

also, has anyone ran a serpentine belt setup in a late 70's 4x4 with a 460?

im trying to piece toghther my own setup and not buy thing that i dont need and see what price difference it would be to get the L and L kit or try to do it myself.

Do it yoru self and use the money you would have spent on L&L to go into another part of your truck. or the L&L fenderwel exit headers!

There's not a whole lot of 'custom' parts in L and Ls kit, maybe the motor mounts and thats about it, but you can get those elsewhere for cheaper. Jeg's sells them for considerably less I believe, and you can get them on ebay also. Just my .02

Also, the IROKs are actually a perty good all around tire, they actually do good in the mud. I am a bogger fan myself. Sorry for the hijacking jbradley

i had that happen from my truck sitting, the clutch disk gets stuck to the flywheel.. somtimes you have to put a screwdriver between the 2 and pry some.

the parts are new,and I just assembled them 4-5 weeks ago,but I'll check that out.Another thing I have to consider is the 2" body lift, how it changed the clutch linkage geometry.
