35" Spare Tire - Will it fit in spare tire area under bed?

I just put 35x12.5 Toyo MTs on my truck.

I want to have a 35" spare tire, and I am wondering if anyone has fit a 35 under the bed where the spare tire goes. Will it fit?

make a bumper mount for it, they used to sell them in jcwhitney that let you mount the tire on your front bumper infront of your grill.

A 33" tire barely fits with the factory ford trailer hitch. I highly doubt a 35 will fit.

35

My BFG All Terrain fits, but it is too close to the exhaust pipe. I use a Fabtech mount in the bed to hold it down.

I have a 35" spare under my '00. Fits SNUG and is close to the exhaust but it does fit (not sure about the '07's though)...

I know a 35" tire will fit on a 07 CC SB SWD with a V-10 because mine is there. I think the diesel might be a different story because of the exhast difference. I was told it would not fit but decided to give it a try and it worked. It is very near the limit of what will fit so I don't know if a 37" would fit. Might have to try some day.

I think it varies by truck and what type of hitch you have. My full size 35" spare wouldn't fit. But I know plenty of guys on here can fit theirs. I went with Fabtech angled spare carrier, pics in gallery.

Mine fits a 35" with factory hitch. Close to exaust but doesn't seem to hurt it at all. You could always add a heat shield.

35

I have the V-10 with factory exhaust. It was close enough to cause doubt of the heat effecting the tire. I thought about a heat shield, but it's not worth having a tire seperate and tear up the side of my truck. I've dealt with that already, and it was major damage.

I've used my spare and my friend used it on his Excursion(500 miles or so) for two weeks and its worked fine.

I would be concerned going any bigger than a 35 (if it would even fit), not sure how much weight the cable lift could hold. I think the weight on my 37's is close to 100lbs, and that's not even including the rim (and air! ).

I have an aftermarket cat back system (B&B 3.5") and it's close to the tire, I mean within an inch. If I get a blowout and all I have is the 35" tire (that's been sittin' close to the exhaust for years), I'll limp it to the next shop... Wait, I just remembered I have AAA, I'll just call them and let them deal with it!

By the way, I have the factory hitch as well...

I have a pro comp extreme A/T 35 / 12.5 r 18 under an 07 diesel with the factory hitch and mine fits. The tire is 2" from the hitch on the passenger side, 1" on the drivers side and just touches the back of the reciever ( cable looks close to straight up & down ). The tire is 2" from the exaust which is factory minus the mufler, but i dont know if its in the exact same place as stock. I can probably get it about 3.5" away by flipping the hanger bracket 180 degrees.
my tire weight is 69 lbs on pro comps site
i looked at conti site and they have stock 18" conties @ 60.2 lbs

I can't fit a 35" under my 6.0L short bed because of the exhaust, it fits but too close for comfort. I'll just be sure and swap with a front tire if I blow a back tire so it doesn't mess up my limited slip rear differential.
