Pre-1996 Model F150 4.2 V6?

Hello fellow sixers.

Has anybody dropped a 4.2L V6 in a pre- 1996 body style? If not, do you know of anybody who has? Is it a real pain or is it fairly simple?

I'm kicking aroud a few ideas.

Thank you for your time!

None that I am aware of. I'm sure somebody has done it before, but I never remember seeing it here.
Sorry

Thanks. I'm fond of the 4.2 and was just curious.

In the early 80s a carbed 3.8l "Essex" V-6 was listed as an option for some F100s though I've never seen one. I'm not sure it is the same engine family as the current 4.2/3.8 V-6 but I think the bolt pattern is the same as the 300/302/351. If it is the same it should be a very doable swap.

that 300 is just fine man, it puts out more torq than a 4.2l! i have a 4.2 and i like it but ive also owned a couple 300s and i have to say that they are powerful, but if ur lookin for smoothness than the 4.2 is for you.
