^^ Not sure on his, but I used to have a 91 F-250 that ran on propane. In the case of my truck, the rear gas tank was removed, and replaced with a propane tank that held about 24 gallons. The conversion was done by a nearby town for tax credit purposes. Actually ran really well on propane. Fuel economy was a bit lower than gas, but because there are no hydro carbons in propane, engines that run on it are supposed to last much longer. Played around with the idea of dual fueling it w/ gas and propane, but got an offer on the truck I should have refused, so I sold it.

If mine had been done like that, I'd never have gotten rid of it. But when they did the propane conversion, they basically trashed everything related to gasoline. Plus, there are not a lot of places around here to refuel a truck. Lots of propane exchange places, and places that will fill a portable tank, but not too many set up to meter it by the gallon.

Yep, still drive it everyday to work & it tows my bass boat on the weekends. It was trouble free til 187,000 then #8 cyl went to zero compression. Replaced it w/ a Jasper reman & at 15,000 it developed a knock. Replaced it w/ another reman then I started having drivablity issues. The mechanic just started throwing parts @ it including a tranny. I changed jobs & one of the guys I work w/ found that the computer was bad. It needs a paint job, front tank, & all new bearings in the rearend. I just love this body style.

trk98 great job on swapping in that 4.6.....glad to see its all coming together for ya Also, I was wondering where you got your clear corners from.....I got a set for my '87, but they're crystal clear and yours have the ribs to match the headlights, so I was thinking of getting those if I could find them.

My "new" '92
Hi All
Not a truck guy, per se, but this came into the dealership and sat for two weeks as an orphan. It had sat dormant since '05 as part of an estate, and why it ended up at the dealership, I'll never know. When I came back from vacation, that it was, all covered with "stuff" (maybe that's why it was still here), so, I asked the used car mgr. if it was for sale, and if so, could I buy it (being a hot rodder, I could see all kinds of potential in the little truck). The answers were yes, and yes. Now I do
My "new" Flareside
It needs a tailgate and a l/front hug, but I'll give it some TLC, then drive it.

Well, truth be told, it's probably a nice "twenty foot'r". Any closer and you start to see things. Basicely, it's 5.0/AOD 4wd. Used to be a pinkish purple color, but somewhere in its' past, it got a repaint to what you see now. I've only owned it for a week and it needs some repair before I take it home. The left front hub is blown out (as in not there!), so I'll be switching to manual hubs, once I find some pics/how-to's. As mentioned earlier, I'm a hot rodder (my toys include a '54 Ford sedan 351w/C4, '60 Falcon 302/AOD 4wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion stg.) so I'll be wanting to play with the motor, but am sitting on a fence about Mass Air conversion or leave it speed density and keep the mods sorta mild. I'm no off-roader, but this ain't gonna be a show truck. The motor has 102k on the clock, the AOD was replaced in '03 before the truck was parked (repair receipts still in the truck), looks like a one in two out Flowmaster exhaust that sounds nice and mellow, but needs replacement due to rot. This should be a fun toy
Being new to the world of trucks. there's a lot to learn. But like anything else, you read, you look, then you do
BTW, how do you edit your posts? My first post needs some much needed
corrections in wording and spelling. Was in a hurry to get to work this morning, and apparently I was tripping all over my fingers

lessflare, good looking truck. I have a '94 Flareside that's a good "20 footer" too. I think you nailed yourself an excellent daily driver / work horse / take the lady out on a date kind of truck. Keep us updated on what you do to it.
I'm thinking "desert racer", myself.
